Weekend Getaway

My wife and I spent a Saturday night at the Westchester Ritz Carlton and it turned out to be a great quick and easy getaway. The service at the hotel was great and the hotel itself is centrally located and well appointed. We were upgraded to the hospitality level at check in which was a nice surprise. Finally, the staff was great in taking care of any question we had without being overbearing.

Not Living Up to Their Reputation in White Plains

I was anxious to try the new spa at the White Plains location, having had favorable experiences at spas in the chain's other locations. When a special 45 minute massage was offered at a discount price I jumped. Instead of the 45 minutes advertised, my massage was less than 30. When I mentioned this to the receptionist in the spa she offered me a 10 % discount...there was a 33% 'discount' in the service rendered! On top of that I twice confirmed that valet parking was included. When I asked the person, after being short-changed in the service I just paid for, to validate my parking, she responded that they decided to change the policy. I pointed out that I confirmed this twice. She acknowledged that I was correct, but they decided recently that for promotional services they would not validate. I wrote an email complaint to the hotel management which they promised to respond to in 24 hours on their web site. Well, it's over a week and I haven't even received the courtesy of a reply.
