Overview
Thompson Beverly Hills merges sophisticated design with the casual elegance of California modernism. The sister hotel to SoHo's famed 60 Thompson, the sleek 107-room hotel is designed by the renowned Dodd Mitchell and features art installations by iconic fashion photographer Steven Klein throughout. Spacious, well-appointed rooms and suites feature plush bed and bath linens by Sferra, bath products by New York apothecary C.O.Bigelow, pantries by Dean & DeLuca and Joan’s on Third, and state-of-the-art technology. The hotel's stunning bi-level rooftop area houses a Swarovski studded heated pool, private cabanas, ABH bar and lounge and unforgetable views. Fitness center features views from the Hollywood Hills to downtown LA.
Thompson Beverly Hills has partnered with Jonathan Moor to host the West Coast's first BondSt sushi restaurant. Already a favorite among New York patrons, the 130-seat restaurant features fresh and elegant Asian cuisine, with a French twist, prepared by the enormously talented Chef Brian Redzikowski.
ABH (Above Beverly Hills), a private rooftop lounge reserved for hotel guests, offers signature cocktails, cuisine selections from BondSt, and breathtaking, 360-degree views of Beverly Hills and the Hollywood Hills. Guests can also unwind in the exclusive second-floor bar, which houses a private library alcove and custom cocktail list.

Great Views & Nice People

Overall the hotel stay was nice. The sushi was good and the rooms were nice.
What it needs is elevator upgrade - so loud and stalls going up. Our heating unit was out for 6 hours so we were freezing. They fixed it while we were in the room, however I feel that they should have offered us hot tea or something to appease us while we were freezing & waiting. Pool was awesome, views great and nice music. -Carrie Taylor, from Van Nuys, United States - 4/23/2009
Service So-So and Room Is Dark

Comfy bed ~ neat roof top bar ~ good location.
However, not crazy about the property. Service is OK ~ they didn't have our welcome amenity and when they did send something up it was thrown together as an afterthought...kind of tacky. Also, bathroom is really dark ~ not so good for girls who are trying to put their make up on. Guess we like something a bit more sophisticated. -Jeffrey, from henderson, United States - 4/16/2009
March 2008 Visit

The staff was very friendly and efficient. The hotel was very up-scale, but the rope hanging out our window, and location on the busy street detracted from the ambiance of a get-away destination. We liked the closeness to the Spago dinner we were attending that evening, and closeness to Rodeo Drive. -Fred Carrera , from Coto de Caza, United States - 3/24/2008
Under Construction

Although the hotel is under construction, it's a great deal for the price. It was like living a scene from "Devil Wears Prada" Totally hip and way cool. Everyone on staff was just the best. -Kellie, from Piedmont, United States - 1/24/2008
Value While Renovating
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
The Thompson Beverly Hills will probably be a cool and stylish hotel when it is complete. In the meantime, you can stay in a cool room in a great location for a VERY low price. The lobby of the hotel is under construction. The services are bare bones. The room we stayed in was hip and mod. The best thing was the sferra bros linens -- lovely! The bathroom was also beautiful -- but in that very designed way. If you have big hands, you might not be able to get them between the faucet and the sculptural marble sink! Underneath that beautiful sink there was no vanity, so you see this bizarre tape covering the pipes. There is scaffolding covering the entire building. Didn't really bother us as we were there on Thanksgiving so there was no construction, but be aware if you are going to stay there on a work day. it will be interesting to assess the price/value relationship when the renovation is through. For now, the Perfect Escapes rate makes this a great bargain option. -Robert, from San Francisco, United States - 11/28/2007
