Overview
Hostal de la Gavina is the grandest address in the northeast of Spain, since it opened in the early 1980s, has attracted the rich and glamorous, including King Juan Carlos, Elizabeth Taylor and a host of celebrities from northern Europe.
It's on a peninsula jutting seaward from the centre of S'Agaro, placed on a small hill bathed by the Mediterranean and surrounded by beautiful gardens. Within a thick-walled Iberian villa built as the home of the Ansesa family (the owners of the hotel) in 1932. The Hostal de la Gavina overlooks two of the most beautiful beaches of the Costa Brava. The building itself is a masterpiece of architecture, which combines the modern line of great hotels with the warm atmosphere of the classical, traditional Catalan style. Thousands of green and blue tones visible at a single instant overwhelm the traveler signaling that indeed he is before a unique vision which will remain a longstanding memory. The extraordinary "Camino de Ronda" (a coastline footpath) unites the beautiful beaches of Sant Pol and Cala Sa Conca and enlivens the five senses in a special way.
