Overview
Built in 1895 the Metropole Hotel will celebrate its 110th anniversary in 2005. This only remaining hotel of the 19th century in Brussels is noticeable by the quality of its service and its internal decoration. In fact, the main entrance has been decorated in French renaissance style, the reception hall in Empire style, some rooms in Art Deco style.
In April 2002, the Council of Monuments and Sites of Region of Brussels-Capital has protected the Métropole Hotel's façade as well as the ground floor.
The Metropole Hotel is marvelously well located right in the historical center of the European capital, just a few steps away from the "Grand-Place", the "Bourse" and the "Theatre de la Monnaie" and close to the city's most exciting shopping thoroughfare of Brussels.

A Lovely Weekend

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights over a weekend. Reception was friendly and competent. Our room was well turned out. All the facilities in the suite worked except for the light above the mirror in the second bathroom. We only had breakfast in the hotel, and it provided a good selection of fruits, breads, cold and hot items. Service in the restaurant was good. The hotel is well located, with a Metro station a few yards away from the front door. Very pleasant to sit on the sidewalk and enjoy a beer watching people going by.

Beautiful Art Deco Hotel

This traditional art deco style hotel is very centrally located, very close to the opera house and the Grand Place. A metro station is in front of the hotel (direct line to the European area). The lobby and restaurants are very attractive, with beautiful art deco architecture. This was my 4th stay this year in the hotel. They are renovating the hotel and this time I got a fully refurbished beautiful and large room. It should be noted that the rooms that have not yet been refurbished are a bit shabby. The rooms are usually large but this differs a bit. I have always had a quite room (two doors before the corridor). Minibar is free (soft drinks). A good breakfast is served in the beautiful restaurant.
