The pretty River Eye, crossed by two small stone foot bridges and a small road bridge, bisects the village as it flows gently by the imposing entrance.

Located in the heart of the Cotswolds, there's so much to enjoy. During the summer, the gardens and the village are a delight. Charming accommodations in a charming hamlet with an excellent staff. The food was very good. Location was also perfect for touring the area.

AT JUNCTION 3A BRANCH LEFT AND FOLLOW SIGNS TO LONDON TO JOIN THE M40. AT JUNCTION 15 LEAVE THE MOTORWAY AND AT ROUNDABOUT TAKE 4TH EXIT A429 -SIGNPOSTED CIRENCESTER. STAY ON THE A429 THROUGH TO MORTON IN THE MARSH AND STOW ON THE WOLD. AT THE ROMAN COURT HOTEL TURN LEFT AND FOLLOW ROAD. JUNCTION FOR THE SLAUGHTERS IS ON THE RIGHT WHICH LEADS INTO THE VILLAGE CENTRE.

IF YOU WANT TO TRAVEL BY TRAIN THERE IS DIRECT SERVICE FROM LONDON PADDINGTON TO MORETON-IN-MARSH. FROM THERE YOU CAN CATCH TAXI OR A PULHAM BUS TO BOURTON-ON-THE-WATER. LOWER SLAUGHTER IS APPROX 1 MILE ON NORTH-EAST OF BOURTON.
