Overview
The Rival is a boutique hotel with it's own cinema located in the heart of Stockholm, Södermalm. The hotel is shaped by the vision of its owner — Benny Andersson — who wanted to recapture the glamour of the hotel from when it original opened as the Aston hotel in the 1930s. In addition to the Rival Cinema there are bars, a bistro, a cafe and a bakery... In short, it's an ideal meeting place on the city's most beautiful square, Mariatorget. An exciting choice for business travelers and tourists visiting Stockholm.

Great Hotel in a Great Location

This is a great hotel in a great location. The rooms are beautifully designed and the bathrooms superb. I loved the touch of the DVDs and CDs in the room - ABBA, The Visitors became the soundtrack of our stay - and of course it was great marketing as we had to buy a copy before we left for home. The breakfast buffet is excellent and we ate twice in the restaurant where the food was great. Staff were efficient, extremely helpful and very friendly. We couldn't fault the hotel, and also found the prices very reasonable. Highly recommended!

FOLLOW THE E4 TOWARDS STOCKHOLM. WHEN APPROACHING THE OUTSKIRT OF THE CITY FOLLOW THE SIGNS FOR SODERMALM UNTIL YOU REACH A BRIDGE WHERE YOU CAN SEE THE OLD TOWN ON YOUR LEFT HAND SIDE. STAY ON THE RIGHT LANE ON THE BRIDGE AND DO NOT PROCEED INTO THE MAIN TUNNEL. FOLLOW SIGNS FOR NACKA/ HORNSTALL. TURN RIGHT AND YOU WILL LEAVE SODERLEDEN. TURN LEFT AT THE TRAFFIC LIGHTS. ON SODERNALARSTRAAD FOLLOW SIGNS TOWARDS HORNSTALL. CONTINUE ALONG THE HARBOUR UNTIL THE FIRST TRAFFIC LIGHTS. PROCEED IN THE LEFT LANE AND IP THE STREET LEAVING SODERNALARSTRAAD. TURN LEFT AT THE NEXT TRAFFIC LIGHTS AND CONTINUE TWO BLOCKS. TURN RIGHT. YOU ARE NOW ON MARIATORGET. YOU WILL SEE THE HOTEL ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE ON THE MARKET SQUARE. WELCOME TO HOTEL RIVAL.

THE RECOMMENDED FROM OF TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM THE AIRPORT IS BY THE ARLANDA EXPRESS. A 20 MINUTES SPEED TRAIN FROM AND TO THE AIRPORT AT AN APPROXIMATE COST OF 180SEK APPROX. ONE WAY.
