Overview
Set amid the gentle hills of Tuscany and kissed by the scented winds of the Mediterranean sea, Bagni di Pisa Natural Spa Resort is a magnificent and sumptuous building of great historical value. Dating back to the 18th Century, the building is set in a beautiful park of olive trees and combines classical architecture with modern facilities.
In the rooms the view of the starry sky are blended in by the pastel colors of the frescoed vaulted ceilings from the 1700s, with hanging lofts with wooden floors to admire them better and be cradled by history.
The Dei Lorena Restaurant, with a view of the Square of the Miracles and its Leaning Tower, proposes a menu with low-calorie, vegetarian and Tuscan specialties drawing from ancient recipes which once delighted the Grand Duke's guests. We desire to fulfill all your senses, beginning with your sense of taste. The smile on your lips will tell us about our cuisine.

This hotel looks much better on its website than it actually is. The thermal pool, which is quite small, was very crowded during the day with Speedo wearing dudes making out with their gals. Kind of annoying for two girl friends on a spa vacation - although the pool was totally empty both nights we were there and that was great. In negotiating a rate, we paid an extra 20 Euros per person for a robe and spa slippers. While I had visions of fluffy white robes and cozy slippers, the robes were worn, gold-mustard colored and the slippers were tough plastic. We did not participate in any treatments, which I had read were quite expensive, and instead spent the day in beautiful Luca (a ten minute ride over the mountain). We stayed here because we had an early flight out of the Pisa airport the next morning, and while we knew that the hotel wasn't in Pisa (which I liked because Pisa is a bit of a one-town-wonder kind of town), it was quite a long drive to the airport (35 minutes).
