Overview
Imagine a place that was once the most significant architectural structure of its time. The PSFS building was at the height of modernity in 1932 a place that symbolized growth prosperity and futuristic technology. Now renovated as a luxury hotel the PSFS building maintains the many details and traits that earned it a national historic landmark designation. Given its modern technology and proximity to major attractions and the convention center it sets a city standard in modern lodging convenience and luxury. Loews Philadelphia makes business travel in Philadelphia good business.

Good but Jonathan Up on Club Level Was Awfu!
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
Rooms/most staff were excellent. However, problems with internet hook up/usage. Also, up on level 31 (we were staying on level 30) Jonathan was completely unprofessional when he accosted our young 13 year olds as to which room they were in. Understand that only 30+ rooms were supposed to benefit from the continental breakfast, but we had girls sleeping together in different rooms so they were unfairly targeted - The parents should have been approached in a non-confrontational manner instead. Later that very same day, Jonathan asked me and my family what room number we were in as soon as we entered the area. This very much offended me because he did not ask another single person their room number when they arrived. If you are nit picky about a simple continental breakfast, just charge the other room numbers extra instead of embarrassing them and their children. Very disappointed in his behavior - don't know if I will stay there again. -Jean Lehane , from Portsmouth, United States - 4/20/2009

It took two calls and a visit to the front desk to get a bottle opener. That should not have happened, considering it is a simple thing and ultimately we were discomforted by the service in this matter. Our only other dealing was with the front desk on check in and check out. Shea, the concierge attending us both times, was warm, accommodating, and practical.
The handset on the phone didn't work even after we had the front desk send up an "engineer". The coffee machine didn't work and we didn't try having it fixed.
We had wanted to quickly check our emails. Unfortunately, there are no computers available for general use. One has to go to the conference center on the second floor and pay $10 for the first few minutes of use. This is impractical. It would be better to have a single laptop available in the lobby for this purpose, as many hotels have.
There was a French Fry between the head board and the window, left by another guest. -Ali Hocek , from New York, United States - 1/29/2009
Very Nice Stay

No complaints about our one night stay at the Loews Philadelphia. I knew ahead of time not to use their $38 per night valet parking and left the car in a lot that cost $15 just a few blocks away. Bar/restaurant was a nice place to hang out, though I wish the hotel carried some of the cool decor into the good-sized, but bland rooms. Everything seemed clean and check-in was pretty quick. Would stay at the Loews again if the rates are still low. -Emily, from Brooklyn, United States - 12/18/2008

This is the second time we've stayed and this was even better than the first. The staff is very helpful, the location couldn't be better and the rooms are good sized, well appointed and the bed is fantastic. So is the shower. -Susan Weissman , from Studio City, United States - 12/3/2008

I liked the hotel overall, however the only drawback was the size of the rooms. I got there and had to wait for my room's availability. I went back to inquire about the status and they actually upgraded me to the 32nd floor! This was a definite plus. -Tabia, from SOUTH WINDSOR, United States - 11/20/2008
Great City, Great Hotel

My husband and I recently went to Philadelphia for a long weekend. We very much enjoyed the hotel and its amenities. My husband worked out in the exercise room and I enjoyed a massage at the spa. We also ate dinner in the restaurant. We had a very enjoyable stay and found the food good at the restaurant. The staff was very nice and helpful, including the concierge who helped us take a day trip and also gave us directions to the Barnes Foundation. We would definitely stay at this hotel again. -Jacqueline Reed , from Washington, United States - 7/8/2008
Good Hotel

We had a very spacious room with a great view on the 30th floor. Only the aircon. from the other buildings below was a little bit annoying. Convenient location. Friendly stuff. The swimming pool is disappointingly small.
For American standard the price is okay, but compared to German hotels Loews does not offer the same amenities one would expect from a hotel of this class. -Andrea, from Wiesbaden, Germany - 5/17/2008
Rooms Vary

Initially, I was assigned a small room in a corner of the building near the elevator. After one night of trying to sleep with the sound of the elevator moving up and down, I requested another room. My second room was very nice, much bigger than my first, with a terrific view of Philadelphia and a large bathroom. Had I remained in the first room, I would have been upset. The second room was very acceptable and comfortable. The building itself is a bit cold and dark and some people in my party had difficulties with it for this reason. The spa and gym were a high point of my stay. The gym is extremely well equipped, spacious, and clean. -K, from Los Angeles, United States - 3/27/2008
