We consider it a privilege to work in this magnificent 13th century castle, located ½ hour from Galway on the shores of Lough Corrib, Ireland's second largest lake. Once the estate of Lord Ardilaun and the Guinness Family, Ashford opened as a luxury hotel in 1939.

Stayed with my family including high school and college-age children. Loved the golf, horseback riding, and a fabulous dinner.

We really enjoyed staying at the beautiful Ashford Castle. The only problem we had was a shower door that kept opening, and we could never get them to fix it, and they never offered to switch the location of the room. The room was otherwise amazing, the view from the room and the amenities were great. We wish the concierges had been a little more knowledgeable about the Quiet Man Tours that you can get from Cong. When we finally found it, the one guy who does the tours had to go to the hospital during his normal tour time, and we couldn't make the last tour before we left the area.
