Overview
This palatial hotel in the shadow of the Great Pyramids in Cairo has enchanted guests since 1869. Our Stay At the Mena House

We had an amazing time at the Mena House, especially due to its prime location next to the pyramids. The employees were incredibly helpful and always tried to go above and beyond. We were in awe of the history behind the Mena House along with its architectural beauty. The only issue we experienced was in booking a driver to take us to the sister hotel in Hurghatta. We booked a driver through a company that is partnered with the Mena House. The problems that occurred were as followed: Since we were staying in Hurghatta for 4 days and returning to Cairo after, it was recommended (if not, forced) to have our driver stay in Hurghatta. Not only did this increase the cost, but we also had to pay for his accommodations. A better option would have been to have a driver booked from the sister hotel in Hurghatta to bring us back to Cairo. In addition, we were expected to pay the car co. in cash! (~$1k USD). Fortunately, the GM of Mena allowed us to charge to our room.

What a hotel, will be going back there again! Lying in bed and looking straight out at the Great Pyramid, just didn't seem real, have never seen such a magnificent place, better than even the other King's Palaces we stayed in!
