Pampered At Punta Islita

This was our first visit to Punta Islita and we were very impressed. From the moment we got there we were taken care of and felt relaxed. We drove there ourselves so after the white knuckle adventure to get there this was a breath of fresh air. The spa treatments were wonderful - I got a deep tissue massage and it was one of the best I ever had (I get one every three months). The food at the resort was good, but pricey. The Costa Rican breakfast was great (ask for the green salsa to go with it - yum). There is a restaurant up the hill that is more reasonably priced and has great food and service. We enjoyed laying down by the beach and drinking fruity drinks at the pool bar. The infinity pool is very nice and again the pool bar there was fun (no children at this bar). The rooms were very nice and the service was great. We had our favorite servers and they were friendly and good with conversations about their culture. The concierge, Marvin, was great and helpful.

From The East - 4-wheel drive vehicle suggested.Approx.5 hrs drive from San Jose. ROUTE FROM MAY TO NOVEMBER. You will take the highway north towards Puntarenas and Liberia -Route No.1-. You will pass Puntarenas after 1 and a half to 2 hours of driving. Continue driving straight ahead until you reach -El Puente de la Amistad- to your left. This is a bridge over the Tempisque River. There used to be a ferry some time ago instead of the bridge. Turn to your left passing the bridge -route No.18-. Keep on driving straight ahead until you have the chance to turn to the left again to a place called Nandayure, then Carmona.Some of the towns you will pass are : Pueblo Nuevo, Pilas, Corozalito and finally Islita just where Hotel Punta Islita is located. From December to April take the same route but turn to your right after passing the Tempisque river. That is the route that goes to Nicoya, Samara, Carrillo and Islita. You have to cross a river with the car -rio Ora- but that depends on the tides and rain that has fell.

Land transfer is provided by the hotel from and to the airstrip in Islita with a cost per person of 10.00 USD round trip. The hotel is located 6 kilometers away from the airstrip. Please advise how clients will arrive and depart. It is very important. Hotel located in an isolated area.
