Overview
Perched on an Andean Hillside a one and a half hour drive north of Quito, La Mirage is a contemporary Resort built on the grounds of 200 year old Hacienda.
Accommodations ~ 23 large, exquisitely furnished and unique Rooms and Suites –no two alike- all with an eclectic blend of local and European Pieces of Art. They have Fireplaces, a separate Sitting Area and all the amenities one would require. Nightly Turn-down Service.
Dining ~ Enjoy Breakfast and Lunch in the Hotel's glass pavilions on the lawn while watching peacocks strolling and hummingbirds flying by. The select four course a la carte Gourmet Dinner (included in the price of your stay) may be enjoyed with impeccable service in the Main Dining Room.
Garden ~ Wander through the extraordinary fragrant hummingbird-filled gardens, where plants and flowers grow to prehistoric proportions. Dahlias, Bougainvillea, Hibiscus, Roses and Orchids are just a small listing of the flowers you'll find.

For Us -- the Perfect End to a Wonderful Trip

La Mirage was a wonderful night's respite at the end of a very active (sometimes strenuous) tour of Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. The food was excellent, the room very nice and the staff welcoming and attentive. We enjoyed a most-welcomed couple's spa treatment which lived up to the resort's reputation. Arrive early for your spa appointment to take advantage of the facility's other offerings. The hotel is on the edge of Cotacachi and a short walk into town to the many leather stores. The grounds are quiet, beautiful and a peaceful place to read or relax. It is also only a 15-20 minute taxi ride to Otavalo. Finally, because it bears repeating, the food was wonderful -- and much of it included in room rate. We enjoyed our stay immensely -- wish we had more time there.
