Overview
With a lyrical name meaning "place of refuge" in Sanskrit, Ayana Resort and Spa Bali perches on limestone cliffs above the Indian Ocean, near Jimbaran Bay on Bali’s southwestern peninsula. The 77-hectare property enjoys majestic views and a secluded location with a tranquil white-sand beach, yet is situated just 15 minutes from Bali’s airport. The expansive resort features a 290-room hotel and 78 freestanding private villas, including the ultra-exclusive Ayana Villa, set on 3,000 square metres of cliff-edge gardens. Complete sanctuary awaits every guest, with unrivaled facilities and premier service.
Spread across the property are four freshwater swimming pools including a children’s pool, plus the stunning salt-water, infinity-edged Ocean Beach pool at the cliff’s base, accessed via an inclinator. The resort features 12 dining venues including the ultra-chic Dava Restaurant and the sand-floored Kisik seafood restaurant over the beach. There are five purpose-built wedding venues, including two cliff-edge chapels, and the avant-garde Champa Garden for events of up to 2,000 people. Sports and recreation facilities include an 18-hole golf putting course, tennis pavilion, jogging/cycling path, fitness center, children’s center and retail arcade.
The resort’s award-winning Thermes Marins Thalasso spa complex brings together timeless European seawater therapies and traditional Balinese health and beauty treatments. A must for any visit to Bali is a hydro-therapy session in the world’s largest Aquatonic Seawater Therapy Pool, supplied directly from the underlying Indian Ocean. The spa also features state-of-the-art hydrotherapy treatment rooms, spacious private spa villas, reflexology and beauty salon, as well as the exclusive Spa on the Rocks treatment villas anchored amidst the ocean.
Ayana also features comprehensive meeting facilities for corporate events. With a range of large and small meeting and conference rooms, state-of-the-art technology, resort-wide WiFi, creative staff to organize events to your budget, and – when you’re ready for a break – the stunning facilities of the resort at your doorstep, even doing business at Ayana is synonymous with pleasure.

Good Hotel, Good Service

The Ayana is a very good place to relax for a few days. We loved the pools and the gardens. The room was very nice and the bed was extremely comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. However, the included breakfast was just so-so for a hotel at this level (although the outside dining area was very nice). All in all it was a very enjoyable time. -Mark Feingold , from Marblehead, United States - 2/17/2010
Excellent Service, but With Non-Local Prices

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Ayana for two nights in late June, on the tail end of a two-week vacation to Bali. After staying at a smaller, less established villas in Seminyak for the majority of our trip, it was a welcome change of pace to settle into the lap of luxury at the Ayana. However, one thing that we noticed were the prices -- they were very much on scale with Western prices. We had gotten quite accustomed to local prices at restaurants and for shopping, so it seemed very pricey. In retrospect, it was very affordable compared to luxury hotels outside of Asia, though.
I would highly recommend this hotel, and look forward to our next visit. I cannot say enough about their excellent service. -Kumiko Ide, from Vancouver, Canada - 7/2/2009
Ayana Resort

I had the pleasure of spending three lovely days at the Ayana Resort in Jimbaran, Bali in April 2009. The resort has a typical tropical island resort style, blending some with Balinese architecture with the normal mod-cons expected from a top end resort.
The rooms are very comfortable, large in size (normal for most of Asia) and well appointed (large flat screen LCD TV etc.).
The resort itself offers several restaurants, none spectacular but all serving a nice meal. The outside space is very nice, several large swimming pools dominate the landscape and provide for different options when relaxing. The beach pool is particularly nice (little hard to access though as the resort is situated on a cliff with the beach some way below the main resort resulting in a lot climbing up and down steps to get to the beach).
The service was as can be expected, nice, welcoming, check-in process. Room was kept clean and fresh and in my case I checked out fairly late (after 4pm). -Jacques, from Parkhurst, South Africa - 4/19/2009
