Overview
Designed in 1929 by architect Leland A. Bryant, the Sunset Tower Hotel was a trendsetter from the moment it opened. Its dramatic setting on the Sunset Strip and elegant Art Deco styling make it an enduring legend and landmark -- a place where Golden Age ambiance is complemented with every modern convenience. With its chic restaurant, fabulous spa, and unrivaled views of Los Angeles, the exceptional environment of the Sunset Tower Hotel offers its guests every comfort and amenity.
This landmark hotel is now equipped with the latest electronic conveniences, providing the ultimate in privacy and elegance. Accommodations range from sleekly elegant standard rooms to spacious suites with floor-to-ceiling windows and limestone bathrooms. On the tower's top floors, spectacular penthouse suites offer separate living and boudoir areas, as well as wraparound terraces, floor-to-ceiling windows, and deep soaking tubs. Custom fittings, romantic lighting, and artworks combine to create a subtly luxurious feeling in these superb apartment-style suites.
The lobby and Tower Bar & Restaurant occupy ground-floor spaces that served as Bugsy Siegel’s private apartment in the 1930s. Guests can enjoy the brass-inlay walnut paneling and 1920s French wall sconces, window-niche banquettes in suede, roaring fireplaces, and sweeping views of the city.
Please note: This hotel was formerly known as The Argyle.

Depending on where you are and what you're doing, LA can be either congested and characterless, or charming and historic. The Sunset Tower captures the beauty and the agelessness of Hollywood. My room was great with a wonderful view of the gorgeous pool and the quaint W.Hollywood neighborhoods -- the purple trees were blooming everywhere. The bar and restaurant were a ton of fun -- yes, we saw famous people hanging around, enjoying the food and the atmosphere.
Sunset Towers is now one of my new favorite hotels -- I'm looking forward to coming back. -pamela pantages, from shaker heights, United States - 10/8/2007
