Happy at the Huntley

I recently stayed at the Huntley for business and personal reasons and I was very happy. Even though I stayed only 1 night, I received an ugraded room with the most stunning vew of the ocean FROM THE BATHROOM! What a unique pleasure. I also liked that I was able to open the windows in both the bedroom and the bathroom. The bed was divine. They told me room service in the morning would take around 15 to 20 minutes and it was there on time. However, the quality of the breakfast could have been a lot better. There was a bit of a mix up at check out but it was resolved in my favor and in a fair amuont of time. Although I did not get to 3rd Street I know from my past stay at this hotel that all that shopping is just a short walk away. So the location is excellant and virtually everyone was very courteous and friendly. I highly recommend The Huntley and cannot wait to go back!

Stay At Huntley

Our check in went very smoothly and we were taken to our room directly. The room was very big (2 queen beds) with a decent view of the ocean. We had plenty of room to spread out and hang up our clothes. They have a great bar on the top floor - the ladies room has the BEST VIEW! WOW! The only down side is that there is no pool.
The beds are super cozy and they give you awesome chocolate squares on your pillow (we called for more). I don't know if they have a spa- don't think so, and the "gym" is a small, hot room- they could have done a lot better than that. Overall, it is a contemporary, inviting hotel close to the ocean and the heart of Santa Monica.

Disappointed in the Huntley

We travel a lot to great places world wide. The Huntley room was small, we arrived at 2:30 and had to wait an hour for our room. I believe through Perfect Escapes/Amex we were to have an upgrade (on avail.) and they claimed it wasn't available. No in-room coffee service. Lunch at the Penthouse Restaurant had very poor service. Basically felt like we spent $400 for staying at a hotel about 16 hours total. Perfect location in Santa Monica.

Our family was looking for a luxury weekend in Santa Monica, next to the promenade and the beach. The Huntley was great. My kids enjoyed the hotel, and the staff was very kid friendly - even though the hotel is a hot nightspot. The location is perfect - everything is a short walk. Beds were great, and the room was quiet. Lower floors don't get any sort of a view. If you need a great view here, expect to pay for it. We were entitled to a room upgrade because of our Perfect Escapes rate, but the Front Desk Clerk couldn't really help us with it, because the upgraded room was one floor below the loud disco above. He was honest about the situation, and we were happy to have a quiet room with no view vs. a noisy room with a view.
Highly recommend the hotel. The staff was great, and the rooms are clean and well kept.
