Overview
The Nelligan Hotel is a boutique style hotel with 63 comfortable and spacious rooms. This boutique hotel provides a window to local fashion, history and culture by creating a total experience for their guests: a “world within a world”. It becomes an extension of the city in which it is set. Stone and brick walls set the tone for the rooms which are furnished in a sober yet modern fashion.
Nestled in this 19th century building, Versus Restaurant features large windows which open onto Saint-Paul, allowing the natural light to flow into the dining room, which is furnished with curved red banquettes and dark wood chairs. The stone and brick walls are complemented by long flowing curtains, dark wood paneling and large 10-foot mirrors. This contemporary French cuisine, has become one of Old Montreal's hippest new restaurants.

A Delightful Place

Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Complimentary wine and cheese a nice touch. Bed very large and comfortable. Bath very nice. Architecture (especially the bar) is unique. Probably not for people with young children. Great for couples, though. I have no hesitation about staying there again. -Vicki Chase , from Ottawa, Canada - 11/14/2008

This property far exceeded the photos and descriptions on-line. It was wonderfully placed in the (arguably) most interesting part of Montreal and offered enough refinements to make leaving the hotel an issue, and returning to the hotel a joy. Staff at all levels, including front desk, restaurant, bar, houskeeping and front door were the best. Thank you. We will definitely recommend and return. -Terrence Curley , from Boise, United States - 10/19/2008

A Small Gem

Warm, understated luxury. The staff was friendly and extremely professional. The decor was lovely and the location perfect for enjoying Old Montreal. The car was taken to the underground garage and we didn't have to worry about parking. The terrace bar overlooked the old harbor and 18th century rooftops and was a delightful place to be in the evening. We will definitely return. -Victoria, from Andover , United States - 9/22/2008

A wonderful find! A relaxed yet hip hotel with fantastic staff. I traveled with a four year old and was very impressed with the service and attention we received. This hotel has a generous spirit with many thoughtful and unexpected touches that a lot of more expensive hotels could learn from. The complimentary wine and cheese evenings were a fantastic way to chill out and meet other guests. I can't fault this hotel at all. Well done Hotel Nelligan! -Kathryn Morton , from Summer Hill, Australia - 9/21/2008

Beautifully Appointed, but Small Room
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
Everything was lovely, but our room was rather small and down a very long and dark hallway. Aside from that, we had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the hotel. The continental breakfast was tasty and the restaurant/lobby were gorgeous. The staff was great. -James Sweet , from Rochester, United States - 8/26/2008

All things considered (Montreal Jazz Festival, major city, location), this hotel is excellent value. A coffee maker in room would be an nice addition. The staff without exception were excellent including the concierge, bellmen and valet services. Location is excellent. -Wayne Fulcher , from Riverport, Canada - 7/8/2008
