Overview
This sprawling Mediterranean-style resort is made up of a main house with additions, satellite buildings which house a full service spa, and the Villa Cielo, set high atop this mountain haven. Catering to romantics, families and executives, this lofty lodging provides a level of comfort, privacy and rejuvenation hard to find anywhere.
Spectacular 180-degree views from the opulent dining room, numerous cedar decks, and luxurious guest rooms show off grazing deer, Japanese maples and yellow cedar that grace this 75-hectare domain. The views extend to Finlay's Arm, the Canadian Gulf Islands and the Olympic Mountains of Washington State.
In the main floor dining room, a gold-leaf ceiling, fine local art, carved columns, Chippendale chairs, dark woods, starched white linen, beautiful Milanese china, and commanding views from every table are merely backdrops for the innovative cuisine. Daily menus offer local game, fowl, seafood and produce. The passionate chef, Christophe Letard, often discusses the menu pre-dinner and allows diners to sample the soon-to-be-transformed ingredients.
