What's great about this hotel is its location. It's right next to Union Station which makes it really easy to get around the city. Another big plus is the restaurants within the hotel and close by. The rooms are a little small and need some updating. However, they are still comfortable with some style.

Good Service, Rooms a Bit Small

We stayed just for a night. Good service at the door - even with 8 bags for transit - and excellent front desk service with room immediately available. The room service was courteous and prompt. Only gripe is the room is a little small - the feel is classic and comfortable and we had a great view of the Canadian flag. Overall a nice room and hotel.

The only knock that we had against this hotel is that the rooms are VERY small and not modernized to the extent that you would expect. That being said, the rest of the hotel is amazing and the staff were fantastic!

We stayed at the Royal York just overnight and arrived on the last day of a holiday so that all the shops and at least one of the restaurants were closed. As a result, we couldn't take advantage of them. The hotel is old in a nice way, but fairly pricey. The rooms were adequate, but I normally would expect better for the price. The service was good and the staff were courteous and helpful.
