Wonderful, old world European elegance. Highly recommend this upscale hotel!! The rooms were magnificent, the bedding was sensual! Just do yourself a favor and skip the tour of the hotel - it was painful.

Not Up to Fairmont Service Standards

A great historic place, but as for that special Fairmont friendly attentive service, it doesn't exist at this hotel. The valet and bell persons seem very tired, not at all focused on the service.

I Hated It.

Upon arrival to our room, it was appealing but very small. No drawers to store clothes (we were there for 4 days), lamps did not work, TV did not work either until we discovered it was not plugged in. There are only 4 extra outlets in the room, all in one spot by the desk. Plugging in laptops, irons, was work. We both have laptops. They advertise free internet if you join The Presidents Club. My husband's laptop was able to log on but very weak signal, I was never able to log on.
The general atmosphere is smug - The breakfast cost $85.00 and was not spectacular.
We left there after one night, went to Lowe's - Le Concorde. Spent the same amount of money but although the hotel is not "The Chateau" the view was spectacular from the 25th floor facing the city. We loved it. Breakfast was included in daily rate and the food was to die for. Had dinner there as well, pricey but out of this world.
The Chateau just was not our style.
