We had a great five night stay at this Grand and regal hotel. The room was lovely, the staff was gracious, the restaurants were delicious. We would definitely stay there again if another great deal came our way. -Kelly, from Black Diamond, Canada - 10/4/2009

The Empress is a beautiful hotel, worthy of a tour even if you don't stay there. Perfect Escapes requested an upgrade, which we got, and our suite was absolutely gorgeous, as was every part of this hotel. We peeked into a regular room, which was on the small side, but still very nice. We also got the "bed and breakfast" package, and dining in the exquisite restaurant was a real treat. The location is great - just a few blocks from the docks where the Clipper came in, and right at the heart of the historic government buildings and scores of shops and cafes. Hotel staff was very nice and knowledgeable. Our one-night stay at the Empress was a real treat - we almost didn't want to go out of the room! There are cheaper rooms to be had in Victoria, but the experience of this special hotel was worth the price! -Amber, from Dallas, United States - 7/30/2009

Amazing history, everyone must stay at the Fairmont Empress at least once. I will myself will never stay anywhere else in Victoria, BC. The free upgrade was quite nice as well. Thank you Perfect Escapes! -Michelle Rutherford , from Seattle, United States - 6/30/2009
Fairmont Empress in Victoria

Fabulous, nothing was out of place! No request to small. I would definitely book through Perfect Escapes as we were able to get a late check out (4:00pm) when others who had booked with other agencies had to vacate at 11:00am. We also had the Gold status which was wonderful. It was like having your own staff that you didn't have to share with the rest of this huge hotel. I will return in the fall/winter and spend the entire time in the hotel, BEAUTIFUL! -Michelle, from Seattle, United States - 6/22/2009

The Perfect Escapes upgrade (and my Fairmont President's Club Membership) got me upgraded to a one bedroom suite overlooking the harbor. The suite was in the original part of the hotel which meant that it had very large rooms and very high ceilings. The refurbishing from the Fairmont branding was still fresh so everything in the room was great. The hotel itself continues to suffer from being a tourist attraction. Staff are somewhat overwhelmed by the number of people wandering through the hallways so are not as attentive to guests as they might be. Restaurants are not really as good as they should be; service and food are only adequate. However, even though room service has a limited menu, surprisingly, items were better and more attentively prepared and presented than the in the dining room. -Mark Hundert , from Toronto, Canada - 4/23/2009

Hotel itself was very good, as everyone knows it. It is the landmark of Victoria, and it is also a sightseeing spot.

I was personally looking forward to my stay at the Empress in Victoria as I had not been there since I was a youth. All my memories were brought back to life when we entered the lobby of this fantastic hotel. You can imagine my excitement, which was only enhanced when they upgraded our room! What a thrill. They placed us on the top floor overlooking the harbor and Parlament building... spectacular! Needless to say, the room was gracious in size and grandeur. The entire staff was accommodating during our time there aswell. Overall we were very pleased. I now have new memories, which I will cherish for years to come. -Richard Porter , from Vallejo, United States - 4/11/2008
