Overview
Book your El Tamarindo Resort stay via Perfect Escapes and receive daily breakfast for two, a bottle of wine in your room on arrival, 12pm early check-in*, and 4pm late check-out*. -----
Facing a breathtaking expanse of Mexico's finest Pacific coastline and nestled among over two thousands acres of ecologically protected lush rainforest, El Tamarindo Beach & Golf Resort is a collection of 29 luxurious, yet rustic, thatched palapa villas that harmoniously blend with the unadulterated beauty of their surroundings. Each villa at Tamarindo, with its own private plunge pool, is so perfectly placed on the margin between forest and ocean that you can almost taste Eden.
The stunning 18-hole championship-style golf course, El Tamarindo, is set amidst a 2,040-acre natural reserve, making it one of the most spectacular courses in the entire world. The par 72 course is an accommodating 6,750 yards, which allows time to take in the beauty of the area. Eight of the course's holes offer unparalleled views of the rocky, untouched coastline that meets the crystal blue Pacific.
Spa and Temazcal Services at the resort allow guests to enjoy the natural treatments in the relaxing surrounding of the jungle or in a hut by the beach, and are complimented by yoga and Qi Gong classes, holistic massages and facials. One of El Tamarindo's sought-after treatment is the Temazcal, a pre-Hispanic purification ritual, which combines healing mud scrub, the ocean, an igloo constructed of clay bricks and medicinal herbs, cleansing steam and pre-Hispanic spiritual chanting.
At El Tamarindo, each meal is a distinctive experience. Members are invited to dine at a variety of locations throughout the property. La Higuera: The restaurant sits adjacent to the resort's infinity pool and features al fresco dining. La Higuera's innovative, yet timeless menu items of the region, highlights the area's fresh vegetables, seafood and meats. An unobstructed 180-degree beach and ocean view makes breakfast, lunch and dinner a refreshing experience. The Bar at La Higuera: Open for lunch and dinner, the bar provides the ideal setting for a refreshing exotic fruit drink, a pre-dinner cocktail, or a nightcap. Hole 9: Located at the midway point of the spectacular El Tamarindo golf course and perched on a hill overlooking the greens and water below, Hole 9 offers a light afternoon menu for golfers wishing to refuel or nature-lovers scouting migrating whales.

El Tamarindo

We had a wonderful time -- very relaxed and enjoyable.
One criticism though -- it seemed there was no manager on site and in general, no senior staff person overseeing and attending to the needs of the guests. We're not particularly needy, but we did have a few questions and requests that the desk staff seemed at a loss as to how to answer and which took repeated prompting to get answered (e.g., a car rental for our departure out of Puerto Vallarta). Other than this, the staff were lovely and obliging and the resort's accommodation, facilities, and food were great. -Rebecca, from Los Angeles, United States - 3/24/2008
A Pleasant Final Outcome

I had an accident during my stay. We had gone to El Tamarindo for the golf experience. Unfortunately I was not able to enjoy the resort to the fullest, due to a fall at the pool. The hotel corrected the defect and the general manager, Alex Moya was very accommodating and has offered us a complimentary vacation in the future. It was very generous on his part. My wife and myself look forward to a healthy vacation next year.
The beach, accommodations, golf course and ambiance are spectacular. -Charles Citron, from Merrick , United States - 3/19/2008
Wonderful Honeymoon Spot!

Nothing like a private villa with private heated pool to make your honeymoon extra special. Definitely make a reservation for a special beach dinner and order up a margarita, Tamarindo style. -Jodi Shepard, from San Francisco, United States - 2/26/2008
