The Hotel Q! Berlin is an “ultra-stylish design hotel”, recommended by Elle UK and with more than its fair share of Hollywood fans, including the likes of Jennifer Lopez and Drew Barrymore. Designed by the same architects that were responsible for Brad Pitt’s studio in Los Angeles, it’s no wonder that the hotel received one of Travel + Leisure magazine’s inaugural Design Awards in 2005, shortly after opening. The hotel is located just off Kurfürstendamm, one of the most famous avenues in the city, and is a 20-minute stroll from Berlin’s Zoo.
In the evening, dine on light fusion food (Asian, Latin American, and European) in the restaurant or cap things off in the dark and moody lounge with a Q! signature cocktail (tequila, raspberry puree, and champagne). Drinking here is a privilege reserved for members and hotel guests, and a ban on filming and photography ensures A-listers can really let their hair down. The basement spa is worth a visit for its indoor 'beach' -- complete with heated sand, aromatherapy oils, sun loungers, and subdued lighting.
Minimalist rooms are “sexy” (Lonely Planet) yet “sleek” (Travel + Leisure). A platform bed with integrated bathtub is the quirky centerpiece in each of the larger rooms, while suites come with a Nintendo Wii. Clever lighting and space-age furniture add a futuristic touch.
A taxi from Brandenburg Airport to the hotel takes around half an hour. You can also take the Airport Express train to Berlin’s Hauptbahnhof station, which is 10 minutes by S-train from Savignyplatz station (a mere 5-minute walk from the hotel).
